King|customs Tattoos Aftercare
Remove cling film after a minimum of 1hour, up to a maximum of 6hours.
Wash your hands thoroughly, take off the cling film and wash the tattoo with a fragrance-free antibacterial soap, ensuring any dried blood or dirt is removed from the tattoo.
Pat dry with a clean kitchen towel and gently apply a thin layer of Bepanthen ointment until it turns from white to see through.
Leave to air dry for a few minutes and wrap again with cling film.
Repeat this process 3-5 times a day, for a minimum of 3 days and 2 nights strictly, following your tattoo.
From the 4th day onwards, for the next 2 weeks cream the tattoo with Bepanthen several times a day (when it gets dry).
After 2 weeks you can return to your normal moisturising routine over the tattoo.
For tattoos in areas that cannot easily be wrapped, follow the same routine of cleaning a moisturising the tattoo as above. Ensure you don’t touch the tattoo with dirty hands and dirty clothing at any time.
Key points
Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight for a long period of time for at least 1-2 weeks. Cover with loose fitting clothing if necessary.
Do not use tanning beds for at least 4 weeks.
Strictly avoid public swimming pools and hot tubs for 2 weeks.
Sweating has the same effect on new tattoos as soaking in water. If you workout/gym take some time off for at least a 1 week. The tattoo must be fully peeled at this point.
In the first week DO NOT let animals (dogs & cats) come in contact with your tattoo, as they carry a ton of bacteria, fleas and more which can lead to infection. Do not touch the tattoo with dirty hands at all, the same goes for your friends, family and children as this can cause an infection.
Not following the aftercare can result in an infection which would mean a visit to your GP for antibiotics and some unpleasant following weeks, not to mention ruining your brand new tattoo. So please keep in mind your health and investment which is on you for life.
